Introduction to the trainer – Nicky

My career spans 16 years of working with newborns to children, to teenagers and adults, including working in pre and post natal exercise and maternal obesity.

Having started my career in childcare 16 years ago, caring for 0-5 year olds in nursery settings, I later progressed to lecturing childcare and health and social care courses, literally educating the midwifes, paediatric nurses and child care staff of tomorrow.

Whilst extremely satisfying as a career, a fascination with nutrition and health allowed me the opportunity to progress to working in fitness specialising in weight loss, pre and post natal exercise and then to child obesity. This led to positions in the NHS working in maternal obesity and child obesity offering a great platform to work closely with midwifes and health visitors.

Classes teach you the combination of easy to learn methods of breathing and deep relaxation and visualisation, combined with positive thought and language to reduce stress, anxiety and fear and, as a result, create a more calm, comfortable and peaceful birth.
